This Isn’t Just a Place—It’s My Peace
Some places don’t just stay in your memory—they live in your heart.
For me, that place is Perassannur, my village in Kerala. It’s not famous. Tourists don’t come here. But to me, it’s everything.
Whenever I walk barefoot through the paddy fields, I feel like a child again—like I’m touching the earth for the very first time. The mud is soft, the air smells clean, and the water flowing through the canals sounds like a quiet song. That sound still lives in my ears, even now.
Mornings That Heal You
There’s something about the mornings in Perassannur that stays with you. I remember walking through the fields just as the sun started rising. Its rays touched the crops and somehow touched my heart too. It wasn’t just light—it felt like hope. Like energy.
No machine in the world can give you the warmth I felt from the sun that day. It gave light to my thoughts, colour to my soul, and calm to my world.
A Village That Grows With You
The paddy fields stretch wide, and the crops stand proud—like a green army swaying with the wind. In the middle of those fields, there’s a pond. It’s not big, but to me, it always felt like something sacred. Peaceful. Still. Beautiful.
This is what Perassannur is—a place where everything feels connected. The land, the water, the sky, the people. Nature isn't something separate here. It’s part of who we are.
My Most Beautiful Days at Bharathapuzha
Some of my best memories were made at the Bharathapuzha River, which flows close to the village.
Whenever my cousins came over, we’d walk together to the riverbank. Those walks were special—full of laughter, small jokes, and that joy only family brings. Sometimes we’d play in the water; sometimes we’d just sit there with our feet in the river, talking or saying nothing at all.
I still remember how the river sounded—the way it moved slowly and quietly, like it understood us. Just being there, touching the water, looking at the sky… it felt like time paused. Like all our stress and noise disappeared. That kind of peace is hard to find.
Even now, when I feel overwhelmed, I close my eyes and go back to those riverbank evenings. It still brings calm.
From Heat to Heartbeat
Yes, the afternoons in Perassannur get hot. But it’s a heat that makes you feel more alive, not tired. It warms your body, wakes you up, and makes you want to move.
I always felt more active during those hours. It’s like the sun gives you a kind of strength you don’t get from screens or routines.
Evenings and Football Dreams
Evenings in Perassannur have their own energy—especially if you love football.
This is Malappuram, after all. And here, football isn’t just a game. It’s part of life. We don’t need stadiums or crowds. Just a ball, some space, and people who love the game.
The football ground in my village isn’t fancy—but it’s special. You can see the river on one side, the railway track on another, and the canal nearby. It’s like nature painted the perfect backdrop for a match.
Where I Go When I Feel Lost
Whenever I feel low or stressed, I don’t need a therapist. I just go back to the edge of the paddy fields. I sit on the mud. I take a deep breath. And I listen—to the wind, to the silence, to myself.
The mud smells like memories. The air sings a quiet tune. Everything slows down. No pressure. No noise. Just calm.
If I were a poet, I’d write forever from this place.
Perassannur Is More Than Home—It’s a Feeling
This village shaped me. It gave me peace, joy, and so many memories I carry in my heart every single day.
Perassannur isn’t just where I’m from. It’s where I return—to feel alive again.
It’s where the earth still breathes. Where the skies still listen. Where the soul still rests.
Have You Felt This Too? Let’s Talk.
If you’ve ever been to a place that made you feel like this—I’d love to hear about it.
